Christmas is just around the corner.....

Are you ready? I know that I am not!! With thanksgiving done and over with, now starts the holiday rush. Buying for teenagers has to be the worst! If it doesn't cost a small fortune for most this year I will be surprised. Ipods, cell phones, and numerous other electronic gadgets are all the rage. Have been for some time, but they just keep getting more expensive and are only used for a short period of time. What happened to "Its the thought, that counts"? I am sure I am not alone in wondering where the "Spirit" went in having "The Christmas Spirit". I for one dread the holidays, because it seems everyone is out for what can I get, how much will they spend this year, or give you a faint smile saying I love it.....then mumbling under there breath what a cheapskate.

Holiday decorations seem to come out earlier and earlier each year. I think this spoils the some of the fun, or for me it does. I like to decorate and love seeing the lights as much as the next guy, but to see them out in full force before Thanksgiving just doesnt seem right to me. Somehow I get past this and am ready to take it all on, this year its just coming to me

Oh the Joys of the Holidays!

Deer Season Open

What is it with men and hunting for sport? As I drove about yesterday all I seen was pickup trucks full of men in bright orange caps and camo clothes. Do they do this for the thrill of the hunt, or just as an excuse to get out of the house? I mean come on yesterday it was in the 30s with a absolutely chilling wind, and sleet-snow mix coming down. Why would anyone want to sit out in that for hours at a time, just hoping to see the "Big" one?
I'll tell you why, so they have bragging rights for the next year on what they believe they accomplished! Or so they have one of them ole' timers stories for years to come, on the "Big One" that got away....... Maybe its just me, but that sounds ridiculous. I would much rather be sitting at home in front of a cozy fire, doing something constructive.
But it could just be me...... Who knows?!?
Do you have a clue?

Ode to Fairies

By the moon we sport and play,
With the night begins our day;
As we dance the dew doth fall--
Trip it, little urchins all,
Lightly as the little bee,
Two by two and three by three;
And about we go, and about we go
Round about, round about, in a fine ring
Thus we dance, thus we dance, and thus we sing;
Trip and go, to and fro, over this green
All about, in and out, for our brave queen
We have danced round about, in a fine ring
We have danced lustily, and thus we sing
All about, in and out, over this green
To and fro, trip and go, to our brave queen

from-A Midsummer Night's Dream

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love fairies! So I decided to blog about them today. A fairy is a type of mythological being or legendary creature, a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical, supernatural or preternatural. The word "fairy" derives from the fae of medieval Western European (Old French) folklore and romance. Fairies are generally described as human in appearance and having magical powers.

Here are a few famous Fairies everyone knows: And these 3:
